Bitcoin

Bitcoin is the original Cryptocurrency.

It uses Proof of work for consensus and mining. It is a Peer-to-peer network where peers communicate transactions and mined blocks with each other.

Andrej Karpathy has a great tutorial on implementing parts of Bitcoin from scratch, you can find it at https://karpathy.github.io/2021/06/21/blockchain/.
